A problem and how I managed to solve it

I have had several problems after living for so long however only a few I have remembered detailed enough to blog about. When I was in Primary 4 I did quite well and managed to top my class. For that I was transferred to the second best class. With this success, I grew slack I frequently did not hand up homework for my CA1 my results plummeted from the usual 80s to 60s but I was not bothered and I continued my bad attitude. My results also went downward and at sometimes boarded at the 50s and 60s.  Occasionally I would even fail. My parents and teachers told me they were worried and they wanted to help, I told them it was nothing and they need not be bothered. Underneath I was actually a bit worried. I finally got my wake up call when I failed all my subjects in my CA2 and got last in class in class. I got the shock of my life. I immediately resolved to work hard but the damage was done and my report card showed 3 exams of bad results. For SA2, for the first time in 9 months my results actually improved and I got 70 and upward. But it was no consolation for the 9 months of horrible results. In Primary 6 I stayed up late and burned the midnight oil studying late into the night. My friends were shocked at my sudden transformation but were nevertheless happy for me as they thought I was beyond hope. They cleared my doubts and answered all my questions. For my PSLE, I scored lower than expected but was still happy with my results as I was able to go to the school I wanted Victoria school and that was how I solved my problems through hard work and determination. 

Something unusual that happened in school

Today, I had to leave school at 1.05pm when my timetable ended at 4pm as Victoria school was holding the annual inter-school east-zone badminton tournament. Every year all the schools in different zones gather in their respective zones to have a competition to see which school is the best. The top four schools of each zone (north south east west) will go to the nationals where the champions will be crowned national champions for that year. For secondary schools there are two divisions B and C divisions. The B division make up of upper secondary students while the C division consist of lower secondary students. In the competition, there will be 3 singles matches and 2 doubles matches. This year I will be playing doubles.

After leaving class, I brought my bags to the hall where we had to set up 4 courts and arrange some chairs for the students and coaches of the other schools, and then we went to eat lunch. When we finished lunch we went up to the hall where the other schools were warming up. The secondary 2 students were assigned to give out water to the coaches and teachers to the other schools. As Victoria was not playing today, we had to umpire and linesmen the games. Our teachers told us to use this as an opportunity to observe our opponents and find out more about their weakness. Our coach also told us that this was a good time to learn new skills or see how good footwork is useful on the court.

The matches took place really fast and when the matches were finished we collected the results for tallying. I thought it was fun to watch them play and I learn quite a few things from the other players and I hope to learn more as the competition progresses. Victoria will be playing next Monday against another school all supporters are welcome. 

A special moment i enjoyed with my family

Today, my family and I went for a cycling and kite flying trip together. Instead of driving to east coast like we usually did, my family used the old bicycles that we had. The cycle to East Coast Park took about 45 minutes. We used several park connecters and at time we had to cycle on the road. However other than a few bumps here and there the route to East Coast Park was relatively smooth.

When we reached East Coast Park, my parents laid down a picnic mat and handed us our kites. Our kites were not cheap, they were recently given to us by our uncle who bought it from USA a country which he frequent due to his job. I found it really difficult to get the kite in the air, first, every time I threw the kite up the wind instead of bringing the kite up slammed the kite down into the ground. Second, there were many kites in the air so sometimes the strings would get tangled and you would have to slowly untangle the lines. In the end, I finally managed to get my kite in the air. It was an exhilarating feeling, like as if you had just climbed the highest mountain. It gave me a large sense of accomplishment.

As the day continued we ate the sandwiches that we prepared at home, it was filled with egg and cheese. As the day was late we cycled home, so I could get ready for school the next day.

A moment spent alone doing something that I enjoyed

For my 14th birthday(just a few days ago)I got the book Eragon and Elders it is a two in one book. After a substantial amount of pestering my parents finally agreed to buy me the book. I was ecstatic when I received the book as frequent visits to the school library did not yield any results what so ever. Ever since, i have been reading this book.

The book was beautifully designed with two dragons on the front page one sapphire blue the other bold red. The book is written by Christopher Paolini, the books are part of a series called The Inheritance Cycle. The book has been described as and i quote "A breathtaking and unheard-of-success" "An irresistible premise" and so on.

The book is about a boy named Eragon he leads a normal life as a farm boy that is until he finds an unusually smooth blue stone in the forest near where he lives. He brings it home thinking that it would buy him and his family food for the winter instead he receives a dragon. He realises he has stumbled upon a legacy as old as the empire itself, the legacy of the dragon riders. Now he must fight to save his world from a king whose evil knows no bounds.

Currently, I have read up to page two hundred and forty six. It has brought me on a journey filled with non-stop action. Overall, I feel that this is a wonderful book, i would recommend it to my friends and if you are bored or have any free time, I suggest you read this book.  (Warning: this is not a book for novice readers)

Something that took place in school

Today I decorated the class room for the Chinese New Year season. the school is also holding a Chinese New Year competition to see which class room is the most nicely decorated. When we first heard of the competition we were really excited, as we did not expect to have the same thing as we had last year. We also had some old ideas we wanted to do last year but did not have the time to do last year due to time constraint. The class was also becoming more bold suggesting new ideas like pasting some small red packets on the blades of the fans and placing long groups of red packets made to the shape of lanterns to hang from the ceiling. A few of us decided that we could stay back and help put up the decorations (me included of course (: ) Together we put up the basic decorations and then brainstormed on which of the ideas the class gave us was approprate. Some of the suggestion were actually quite elaborate and useful while some the others were just rubbish. After a quick selection we prepared what we needed and followed the compilcated and yet good looking plan that our class submitted.

On the whole I think we did a wonderful job decorating our class room we achieved our goal and beatified our class in such a short period of time of a few hours something even i find hard to believe as i thought it would take more then a day. Even if i  judges does not think it deserves to win the first prize in our eyes our class will still be the best decorated class.

Thoughts About Blogging

I was stunned when our teacher told our class we had to create a blog and that it would be part of our exam. Blogging is completely new to me I have never bogged in my life and this is the first time in my life I am blogging.
I am really excited to start blogging as I think it would be fun to write on line. I will also be doing school assignments on this blog from 15 January to 28 January it will be 50% of my CA1. I will have to make five posts on different topics each post has to have 250 words. It cannot contain any form of slang or vulgar and can only be written in proper English. Blogging also allows me to put up pictures and post on line allowing me to share my thoughts with everyone who reads my blog. I hope that my friends will visit my blog and share their views on my blog as it would be fun to discuss with them about different topics. We were warned that we should not put any sensitive information on line like our addresses, hand phone numbers, birthdays or other informative information online in case some despicable people visit our blog. I hope that everything will go well and i will be able to get high marks as i did not do so well last year and i have to do well this year to get into the course of my choice.
